But ya t3/t4 if you can afford it, if not and you want a junkyard turbo. T3 off a T-bird or off a Rustang SVO

isn't a t3/t4 a bit big? seems like it'd take so long to spool it that it wouldn't be very fun to drive.

it won't last too long running 8-12, on a mini-me compression levels are already about 10.5:1 to 10.8:1. after a turbo you're looking at mid-to-high 11's. even on 93 octane that's still really pushing the limits for that engine. you better be using some really freakin good fuel management, i wouldn't run that setup on anything less than a standalone, or you'll be detonating and throwing rods left and right. for a cheap mock standalone setup, i'd recommend my setup, using a program called uberdata. (www.ecimulti.org/uberdata) its kinda like a self-programmed hondata setup, only it costs about $50 to set it up. i was originally gonna run a turbo mini-me setup but decided to use the d15b7 head since it flows better and only has a compression ratio of 9.1:1 instead of starting at 10.8:1.

The point of a turbo is that you don't need power upgrades like bumped compression and vtec. Turn up the boost 1 psi and there is the power you gain from a mini me. t3/t4 is too big. Get a big t3 and 200 hp is well within reach on a stock block/head y7, good luck.

i would recommend either a t25 or a 14b, both are mitsubishi turbos (although i think the t25 was made by garrett...) the t25 will have the most immediate torque, but has been known not to pull as hard at the top end. i'm sportin the 14b, it pulls hard on top and spools real quick.

i had a dohc zc turboed with a t3/t4 and then switched to a t-25. The t3/t4 had so much more top end power, and the t25 lost steam at the top. sure the t25 spooled quicker, but the spike of power a little later from the t3/t4 was sooo much more desirable. Just my personal experience, i'd vote for the hybrid turbo. the dohc zc is ~the same hp as a sohc vtec
