Default I need help with turboin my motor

I have a JDM B16A SiR 2 (1992-95) motor in my 1992 Honda Civic HB and I want to turbo the motor. I am having trouble deciding which turbo to buy. I do not want something like a t-28, but I do not have a huge budgit and cannot afford something like a t-3/4. Also, I am not looking into huge hp (This is my daily driver not a drag car). If it helps any I am lookin to make my car run low 13s or high 12s.

read the articles doood before you get hated on. as for the turbo, go pull a saab turbo or a thunderbird turbo coupe turbo. those will do fine. you know the garret t3 next to the turbonetics t4/t3 its under the thread, my new toys, well I jacked that one from the junk yard. threw it over the fence.

hmmmmm. I dont know. I'm more familiar with the 2.2 engines but if your looking to go into the 12's you'll want a pretty large turbo. Maybe a 14b would do the trick for you. I've got one on my f22 and it runs damn good. I'm running in the mid 13's and i'm using the afc hack with some 450's. Try a td05 out and see if it works ok for you. Dipping into the 12's is going to cost you some bucks so you might as well just suck it up and whip some cash out though. good luck to you

You really need a turbo that is .48/.60 T3/T04E will work just great. Spools quick, and will give you boost until redline. But a T3/T04E will run about $400-$600 new, maybe more depending on where you go. But i got one new for $450 new. Contact MJMturbo.com They have great turbos. I love their service and the quality of the turbo.

I also own a CIvic hb with JDM B16a SiR II motor. And I also have T3/T04 turbo so i'm just suggesting the same. Dont get just any T3 turbo. Some turbo will just top out at a certain RPM. For example, a turbo with .48/.42 will probably top out at 5000 rpm. Since B16a is a high revving engine. That's where the power really kicks in. You dont want a turbo that will dies off after that. You will need something that will hold boost to redline.

Do a search, you would find plenty of information here. That's how i found out about what turbo to use, etc.
