what does an intercooler do. i want to turbo my car and am deciding on whether or not to run an intercooler how much horsepower will it give extra

well i would deff. run one. what it does is take the hot air coming from the motor and the turbo forces it into the intercooler which cools the air down before returning to the intake there for making more horse power, the cooler the air the better

 

basically the boost coming out of a turbo is dam hot, with an intercooler the boost is pushed thorugh it, cooled by the air n then carrys on to the intake, kinda like the radiator in your car but instead of air to water its air to air or air to water (usual is air to air)

 

It's not really about how much HP you will gain, it's that the air entering the chamber isn't going to cause your car to detonate and fail as easily.

wow.. before you start wanting to turbo your car. I sujest that you do some research on how a turbo set up works.. and do alot of research... google is ur best friend..

 

scrap the cooler and run on pure methonal
