It's not like you can't port the LS head and throw some Crane turbo cams or some Crower 404's in there and make the powerband more like a GSR.
why, then you defeat the purpose of a non vtec head. all you would be doing w/ some 404s is shifting the powerband to the high side. the most effective mod on an LS is porting the head. a good port polish job, maybe some 404s w/ cam gears to move the powerband back, and all the supporting mods would be killer.

you have no idea what your talking about. yes it shifts the powerband up however considering i actually own those cams i will tell you the only area that loses power is under 3k. the midrange power increases are huge on those cams. yes you make more power higher up but you also gain a ton in the midrange. not true of a vtec head. you have a teeny primary cam and then nothing happens till vtec..

this dyno is from crowers website. notice the gains starting at 3k, yes they make the most gains near redline but its a smooth 5-10 ft/lbs from 3k up. keep in mind these cams will make power to at least 7500 on a basic build so the top end gains will be even higher
