the cheaper motor is not the greater design, actually most everything in a vtec motor is at least slightly better designed. and as far as non vtec goes you cant get much more NON vtec than me... you just have to understand the non vtec shortcomings make them better.

the real point is the answer to all lifes questions IS NOT slap a b16 head on a stock b18b and it will be the ----

once again, when talking about drag racing sure the vtec is better, but in everyday driving where rpms normally dont rise about 4000rpm the LS is WAY better designed. i was simply saying that everyone thinks vtec is so much better because it revs higher making more peak HP, and that in no way except in a drag race makes it better. POWER TO THE LS, oh yeah and SOHC

until I see a non vtec honda with the same setup and boost level as me lined up next to me and then all I see is tail lights, and a hard time catching up and passing, I am gonna say vtec hondas own non vtec hondas if they are running the same setup. ---- theory! I am talking reality experience and what would really happen.

vtec is for people who don't like to idle like a cam. The LS powerband shown above has almost 75 ftlbs of torque more than the B16 head, which makes for a better daily driven car. It's not like you can't port the LS head and throw some Crane turbo cams or some Crower 404's in there and make the powerband more like a GSR.
