Default I don't want to ask this but....

Okay, newb question from me, but I've only worked with d-series and we are about to order our first turbo for a b-series.

Heres the scoop. B16 in a 94 Coupe. Looking for a decent mid to top-range turbo. Want to hit 250whp stock on a fairly safe tune at 8-10psi. Might have the need to do a mild build on the motor with the same turbo.

What really should we use. We want a t3/t4 or t3/t04 hybird, but what A/R? .60 or .70. What stage wheel. We are looking at the turbos from West-Coast if the Classifieds for 399.00. Any suggestions?

Id rock a t3/t4 with a .60 A/R Compresor and .63 A/R Turbine Housing, B16's are pretty beefy motors throw a fatty HG and some valve springs and youd be set.

valve springs?
what do valve springs have to do with a specific turbo

for 250 whp at 8-10psi you need a t3/t4 60
a nice holset wouldnt hurt either and its probably much cheaper

I didnt mean you need the valve springs for a specific turbo, but i think a low compression b16 with a set of valve springs would be a good turbo motor for the street.

t3/to4e 57 trim .63 ar

i'm pretty sure i'm gonna be picking up this exact turbo for my b16, and shooting for the same aspects as you. good mid to top end, and right around 250 whp.

If you're only shooting for 250ish you could probably find a turbo that will take you from low-mid RPM's to top RPM's.

I'd suggest T3/T04b would work fine for 250 HP. T3/T04e .57 .63 would be fine too. I'd do the T3/T04b though. Cheaper and it will meet your goals at relitively low boost. Maybe not at 10 psi though...

i'm running a t3 60 trim off a 300zx in my b16 and it gets 246hp at 10psi.

I would say t3/t4 either 57 trim or 60 trim both will allow for good power and people make 250-300 whp on 8-12 psi on them all day, 57 trim i think has a lower rating for hp, the ones for sale from westcoast for $399 would get you there, but they are 47 trim, so they will flow a little less air, so you may have to turn the boost up a little, but they will get you there none the less and its a pretty good deal on a turbo
