Anyways, do you have a definitive answer on what killed it? And take this chance to throw in a 7A-FE, will ya?

It definately WAS the ring lands, I broke them on pistons 3 and 4, and the piston rings broke too. I'm not sure if the 7a-fe electronics will just plug right in.... it'd be cool if they did! I would absolutely LOVE to have that extra 200cc's of displacement!
But I do have enough time to look into that before I buy a motor and reinstall everything... I have to move back to school on Sunday, then I have like 8 weeks before school is out, so I'll only be able to come down on the weekends to work on the car. Not a good situation.
This week seems like "heavy engine damage week" because I have 2 friends that both fried their motors one way or another in the past 5 days. One was a Talon TSI that fried it's bearings, and the other was an old *** Jeep that broke its camshaft.
I might start a new thread for the next pics I put up of the innards of the motor.

Man, I am sorry to hear about your loss... but like Jeff says, good times...
I'm fairly certain your ECU has it's ignition maps in MAF vs RPM format, and my FTB setup effectively jacked your ignition timing forward like it does on Hondas. It felt stronger because you were running more timing advance... and that's what broke your ring lands.
An AFC will just do more of the same BUT you'd be able to adjust your fuel a bit more precisely which may help you prevent this sort of damage. Dropshop had great luck with using a BTM w/ AFC hackto dial out the advance in the upper boost figures. Definitely get one of those. If you can't, retard the distributor a bit.
Man, you have me missing the ex-gf's 91 Corolla. I dropped a 4A-F non-EGR in it, drove the **** out of it.
Oh, yeah, the "FTB" or wtf you care to call it is here: http://www.carolinahondas.com/forums...&threadid=1924

Also, then I need a new tranny, driveshafts, and probably hubs. New computer, wiring harness, and I'd have to figure out how to get all that ---- to fit right and pass emissions (I live in WI between Chicago and Milwaukee. That means that I have to pass emissions because the big cities around me pollute too much).

Re:I ------- Blew up my Motor Today!
Actually, you don't need a new tranny, though it would help. The GZE will work with your C50, as long as you use the flywheel from a regular 4A-GE. But the computer/wiring etc is expensive... I forget how much a full harness/ECU/sensors combo would have cost my brother, but let's just leave it at: it was enough to get us to just go and buy an standalone ECU.
