Default Blew a hole in my engine today :(

Don;t know what happenend. Cruising on the highway and kapow! lots of white smoke and a nice hole on the front on block. I'll try and get some pics up for you guys.

What I want is a guide/help to all this longblock shortbloack ---- for a B16 and compatiblity. Do jap engines bolt right on to my heads?! Going to need some help here. My engine was a stock b16a3 for a del sol.

And any suggestions on a buildup for the block.
Maybe sleeving, eagle rods, forged pistons I dunno, need some suggestions from real techies.

Honestly, what I would do if I were you, try to find a B18a/b shortblock and put your B16a head on that. Get yourself a nice little LS/Vtec going. ITs cheap, plenty of power. Yes JDM engines will fit in your car no problem. The JDM B16a (1g) are the cheap cheap ones, these are obd0 ones from 89-91 hondas. You can use the shortblock from one of those, or just leave it as a long block and swap the intake manifolds over. (since you are obd1)

A build up consists of your HP goals.. and how much money you have, you can dump 8 grand in a engine extrememly quick. So it really depends on what you want. Sleeves/Pistons/Rods/headwork etc.. boost ? NA?

Well, I was running 8 psi. And once you boost N/A sucks ***. So I want to continue to turbo. I'm afraid the ls/vtec has to shitty a R ratio that it will blow up, and that the compression is to high, isn;t it around ~12?

I guess I could drop a couple grand, not what I wanted to do but I guess that is what I have to do tho right.

As for boost 10 pounds max is what I am looking at. I think stock internals could take it, but should I risk it?

The shitty RS is nothing to worry about.. in fact it isnt that shitty at all, I know lots of people who have ran ls/vtecs for tons and tons of miles without problems. Its only the cocky ******* like myself that blow them up and push them way beyond what they are suppose to

B18a/b w/ a B16a Head only yields a 9.5c/r (using stock pistons/stock head gasket)
