Default HY35 vs. HE351CW

I just tore down my HY35 to find that my turbine housing is cracked around the WG exit hole. My compressor and CHRA look to be in good shape. I see all kinds of talk about the HY35 and the HE351CW being similar turbo's, but nothing too specific. This is a stretch and Im not sure if anyone knows the answers to this but.... What items are interchangable between these two turbos.

Compressor housing?
Turbune housing?
CHRA?
ect?

I would like to use the revised HE351CW turbine housing since mine in FUBAR, but not sure if it will fit and work with the HY35 turbine wheel or CHRA?

weld the crack and then weld the wastegate flapper closed and run an external wastegate.

Thank you, I understand that this is an option, my question is about part interchangability.

honestly i dont know if there parts are interchangable but its never a good idea to interchange turbo parts unless you have the professional tools and training to do so. fix your turbo and call it a day.

I have the FSM for both turbo's, all the tools, and 4 years as a fuel and electrical component rebuild shop chief specilizing in the rebuild of turbo's, blowers, and diesel mechanical fuel injection components. I also have full TIG and stick capabilities, so either option is open to me (repair turbine housing or mix/match parts). Im hoping for someone with "real world" experience with both of these snails who can thumbs-up/down the interchangability of the components I listed above. If I wanted to simply welded it up, I wouldnt be wasting our time with the questions posed in my initial post.

easy there killer. just trying to help. you obviously have the knowledge and tools to do so where most others dont so why dont you be the first to try and interchage the parts. most people dont use these turbos so its going to be tough to find your answer. anyway! good luck.

Jesus kill the drama. Go back and read the initial and pretty much the only relevant post in this thread. I asked a very specific question. I didnt ask for opinions on how I should procede, and the background was simply intended to show that I am aware of my options, and while I appreceate advice I am looking for specific answers. I didnt intend for this thread to be a discusion on how to go about fixing problem x. I know what I want to do and thats why my questions were so specific. I dont know it all as displayed by my initial post. Apparently you do "know it all" but are going to with hold your information because you dont like my bottom line attitude.

What year dodge did the he351cw come in?
Cummins doesn't list an HE351cw in their 11 million engines.
Maybe you mean he341cw? The HY35 and the HE341cw look a lot alike.

This is an HE341cw

Does it look like the one you have?

I dont have the 351CW yet. Trying to determine interchangability before I go shopping. The little information I have found on the internet illudes to no specifics, just that the HY35 and HE351CW are very similar and the revisions are primarily related to a bit of a better flowing turbine housing and a slightly more effecient compressor (with the 90deg out-let vs. straight). No specifics like CHRA, turbine wheel, or turbine housing interchangability. Ill be very happy to hear any information you have with the end goal being to build a hybrid with the v-band turbine out-let of the 351 and the HY35 CHRA, turbine, and compressor housing.wheel. If its not possible thats cool Ill go another route, I just hate to ---- can the good parts of my HY35 because the turbine housing is cracked. Thanks for any information its much appreceated.
