Re: HX30W on Sohc 1.5/1.6
Haha now were thinking alike lol.
BTW I was reading here on HMT and someone said they had the hx30w on a h22 and it blew after a few weeks from overheating at high rpm and would start to boost before 3k. This is why I figured it would work well on my sohc. |
Re: HX30W on Sohc 1.5/1.6
search for Holset on here and look for my thread (i'm too lazy) , there is a decent amount of info in there about holsets in general

Re: HX30W on Sohc 1.5/1.6
D-series are cheap too. If your not afraid to motor swap a blown D I'd say go for it by reading your post. For sure post your build thread though. I'm anxious to see one run on a D.

Re: HX30W on Sohc 1.5/1.6
I wound up not getting it.
But im gonna keep looking for one in the future. And I couldnt care less if I blow my motor as long as I have a swap ready to go in next day. |
Re: HX30W on Sohc 1.5/1.6
HX30 is physically not much bigger than OEM .60/.63 T3.
It's compressor is comparable with .50 trim T04E - whoopty 350 whp - and at 10 psi you'd make just as much or a bit more power off a .60/.63 because Holsets don't make killer power until 1.5 PR. Most HX30 are for stationary steady-state rpm operating diesel generators. Really depends on the turbine housing size, which you will have to call a Holset dealer to get details about because it isn't stamped anywhere handy. |
