How often do Ebay BOV have 7-8 springs?
So I am using this BOV because its the only one I had on hand. It came with a FMIC kit off ebay, the only cheap *** thing I really have on the setup (excluding the Turbo ), and anyway, no matter what I do (so far) I can't get the boost over 7 psi.... Is it possible the spring on the BOV is weak? I am going to shove some washers into it and see what happens.

Yeah, hahaha, looking like the charge pipe is coming out of the air filter!
Red tape makes stuff stay in place till I picked up enough worm driive clamps, but also keeps the heat tape from fraying. The air filter has been replaced with one that doesnt need to be taped in place.
The wastegate is internal. It works....?...

No change. I must have a leak somewhere.....
I tried running with the MBC shut off completely. Still 7psi max, but some weird noises? only did two quick pulls to see and let off as soon as it didnt go over 7 psi. Cannot find my leak testing kit anywhere damnit!

If its still a MAF car, a boost leak would be evident if it was tuned w/o the leak at one point. Any leak between the MAF and TB usually not leak enough during vacuum to be noticable, but will leak all your boost. If it is post-TB, both will suffer. See if you can lock the BOV shut. Generally the spring pressure + boost the top port sees is enough to keep BOV's shut at least to 15psi (for crap units) or higher. If it was an exhaust leak, spool time will be really slow, and you will smell it. Well maybe not, I hear Subies stink anyways. :P
The weird noise could be the turbo overspinning, maybe getting to the point of surging. If its a cold-side leak & WG is locked shut, the turbo will keep accelerating as fast as your exhaust energy allows.
BTW I though you somehow went native and tried running a filter in the middle of your charge pipes. I said to myself, "BOV's don't go before the filter, nog!!!" lol weird pic

It turned out to be an intercooler coupler leak. The T-bolt clamp was 1 size too big, so when the clamp was tight, it still wasnt tight on the connection.
Fixed it and spools up faster, and now boosting about 12 psi till I can get on a dyno for some real tuning.
