Default How much psi for factory internal wg?

I am new to turbos and trying to teach myself about them. I was trying to find out how many psi can a factory internal wg hold. I have been told that the turbo is from a Volvo.

The turbo is a Garrett Airesearch.

Here is a couple pictures of the turbo. Hope this helps.

Also, can someone tell if I need a 3 or 5 whole downpipe.

All the T3s from Volvos that I have pulled have had stock threaded internal wastegates(im asuming yours still has the stock one). They are set between 5-7 stock.I had mine turned all the way to 12psi with no spikes what so ever.Ive read that they top out at 15psi though.I dont know if thats true or not

Thanks for the info. Cause I was gonna take off the factory internal wg and get an external, but if I really don't need to right now then I won't.

about the down pipe,on the volvos the pipe that conects to the wastegate assembly is flared at the end.Thast why the opening on the assembly looks taperd.Youll have to get a piece flared to get a good seal or you could just weld your down pipe to the assemble.

I would try and find a stock volvo down pipe and cut the flared end off and use the stock 3 hole flange. Its a good idea too couse the o2 sensor doesnt sit to far from the fared end(you could use the o2 bung). One less thing you have to worry about.

Junk yard is the only place I can think of.

I have one from a Saab that is flared and has the 3 hole flang in my garage. If you wnat you can have it.Just pay for the shipping.Im pretty shure it will fit with a little HMT modification

Give me a measurement from bolt to blot(the distance of all 3)and Ill see what the distance is between what I have.

Lets see if it fits.Send me a PM from here on out.
