h22 sleeves are pretty weak compared to other stock motors

I did research! im not a idiot. I wanted to see what other people said. Cause companys always say build the enternals if you want to run anything over 6 psi. And thats for every NA car thats going to be turbo. Ever think i would post a quesion on here to just get some advice from other tuners? if your gonna be a dick dont say anything.

I would not run boost on any honda motor before at least changing out the injectors, getting a fuel pump, and having some way of controlling it all. Just my opinion. And yeah......the search button is at the top of the screen.

Okay i have a h22a4 in my hatch and im currently boosting it and have done hours of research on this setup. For whoever said stock sleeves are week they are wrong people swear by them up to 400hp and more. As for the ringlands are the weak part of the h22. PSI is just a # and its not that what people run its hp numbers. Most people say dont excede 250whp cuz after that ringland begin to fail. There are several who have done it with perfect tuning and still daily drive theres with standalone etc. But for basic managment setup stick to 6psi no more then 8 and tune it gota tune it. You should be fine if you do research and spend money on ur setup the right way dont skimp and leave the important stuff out.

Woah...you have this completely backwards. The H series motors are CLOSED DECK motors. They have the strongest stock sleeves of all the Honda motors. The sleeves are FRM sleeves which means you can't use typical forged aluminum pistons in them.

H-series motors are once and done detonation motors. The ring lands snap on very low boost. With no fuel management(FMU's are not fuel management) I'd keep it under 5psi

Yikes... I dont want that to happen. I want to do a turbo running about 6 psi. The cars got 50,000 miles on it. I plan on building the internals up next winter. Think i will be good at 6 psi for the summer season?

I would strongly suggest maybe talking to someone who actually boosted an h22 engine. There should be another forum or what not just like ours that knows the right and wrong of boosting a prelude. Im not sure if anyone here has a turbo charged prelude but if so contact this person. I think that would be the best advice cuz i would hate to see something goes wrong with your car. just my .02 cents!

I've turbocharged an h22, h23 and am in the process of doing another h22 now. The H22 had a drag kit and cracked the ring lands on the test run becuase of the deltagate pressure spike. The h23 (homemade with a grand nationalturbo) held up for a while until the owner got a hold of a boost controller and turned it up to 18psi and cracked the ring lands. But when it was only 6psi it ran fine.

They reccomend resleeving H series motors becuase the sleeves are FRM which conatins aluminum and therefore you cannot use forged aluminum pistons in them. The NSX also has these style sleeves
