Default How much hp

ok im planning on getting a 92 foxbody 5.0, and with that ill get a 2.5" flowmasters, bbk headers, trickflow track heat engine kit, and a few other things, but how much extra hp would a custom twin turbo setup with the t3's i guess, so im just wondering how much the tt setup would boost hp, and i could build this setup eventually for under $2000 right.

BTW im at school right now, so ill post links when i get home.

Flip the headers from one side to the other, facing forward. Mounting a pair of T3's at the end of them requires you lose PS and AC, or else fab up short extensions and place the turbos further forward. To do the latter usually required a minor trimming of the fenderwells to fit them, but nothing big, you have plenty of room.

Do whatever for an IC, just make sure it's big. Don't be a ****** ----- here, son, we are not dealing with a D15 and a DSM SMIC.

42# injectors with recalibrated MAF. 10 psi non-IC, 15 psi IC, are the general rules of thumb on where to set boost. Somewhere at or near 450whp with a lot of torque. You have the potential for 10's, but until you drop money on traction expect solid 12's spinning all over the place.

Should cost under $1000 if you can do your own charge piping and minor welding.

No, even if you get the smaller .50 trim T3s that's still enough for 500+. .60 trims off 84-87 Ford 2.3 or the early 300ZX single turbo are good for 600 or a touch more.

Your problem is the '69+ 302 block was lightened to the point it's a fragile cast iron balloon held together by the crank and heads and nothing else. 300 whp on a poorly tuned NA setup is enough to split them directly down the middle of the lifter galley, and 450 whp correctly tuned boosted is the reliable limit. I've seen over 500 from them before, and a local friend made 612 whp on a nodular iron mexican block, but that's skating on thin ice.

FYI, you'll hear a lot of people mouthing about the '85 model year lightening campaign being the reason why your block is weak. Ford used FEA and a lot of modern testing to determine how to drop 40 lbs of iron without weakening the 302 block. It was the original lightening back in the late 60's that compromised it.

Hey, it's an excuse to get a Cobra R hood and a 351W, right?

How about you wear your momma's panties on your head when taking your driving test?

You asked a specific Q, I answered. Now you want to go window shopping through 1,001 options instead of geting the job done that you were asking about. I'm pretty much disinterested, and no one else here is going to have the Ford experience *or* interest to help you out, especially not with a pay-for-play brand name blower kit in a DIY turbo forum.

Now, if you ever get the money together, and actually *decide* on something instead of window shopping, post it up and I'll help out.
