That was rude. Listen, you never explained yourself. You said Y8 pistons, so we assume it's in a....Y8, which it's not it was in a D15 which also means it needed bored/honed to fit a larger piston. In turn, it is NOT a normal set-up. You mentioned two different engine codes and expected us to understand what you want exactly. Where you are at is going to be fine and the rods are far to small to really push it much further.

Bore is the same from the d15's to d16's...stroke is different. I know personally that d15 pistons will fit a d16 bore.

I was wondering that as I typed it, but didn't know for sure. Still not a typical style set-up. Thanks for clarification though. Where does the other .1L come into play then? Do they only fit because the cylinder walls aren't perfectly OEM spec and a little looser? Just curious.

It's done the same way as say a b16 compared to a b17...longer stroke creates more displacement, even though they both have the same block/head.

WTF?
Around 185 or so you will start snapping the thins rods of a d15.

What...you think you're the first person to do this? LOL ---- man, I was doing d-series piston swaps when you were still wetting your bed :P

less comp...more timing and more boost and more fuel....
Correct. Less compression will allow much greater boost pressures with an advanced timing curve, but only up to a point. D-series motors are picky with timing, and they don't tend to like a great amount of it.
