Re:How much boost?
Uhh... I think it was around 200WHP when he was at 13psi. I don't really remember. I'll have to ask him. He should have the dyno sheets somewhere.
Mind you, I think he was running a really high fuel pressure. He had a Venom pump and a Vortech FMU. To be honest though, I'm suprised the engine didn't grenade after 8psi. Here's his timeslip on an earlier run. I don't recall what boost he was running at that point. http://ckp.netfirms.com/IMAGES/PICS/...ip%2014.4T.jpg (click for big pic) |
Re:How much boost?
hey man
imma help you out here do this for a budget installation get a 8:1fmu. some 440's and a apexi safc. you can detune the injectors so that your idle isn't dead. then you can make it richen as you progress with boost in your rpm band. but for that amount, stop being ghetto ditch a fmu get hondata its 400 and injectors are about 250 once u get that setup, tune it and your set u spent less than 800 and you can run 10psi SAFELY and RELIABLY i think many wouldn't differ on what i just told u |
Re:How much boost?
Well, I dont think I would run a FMU and the apexi controller at the same time at all, especially with a 8:1 disc. People are having great results with the stock FPR and the basic 450cc/afc hack.
Also, I am unaware if the boost option on hondata is that cheap? Are you refering to using the s100 system? If so you might as well just spend the extra money on the s200 system so you get everything.. 2b is the cheapest they have and that runs 575, non programable. Jeff |
Re:How much boost?
Get your larger injectors first; then call vortech and tell them your car's situation. They will give you the right Fmu ratio for your engine, desired psi, and new injector size.
Here is vortech's number; it's a direct line to the operatator, and ask her for the tech department. 805.247.0226 between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM (PST) They are really helpful, even if you don't own a supercharger-cause turbos are more fun and they bring more scooty to the bedroom :) |
Re:How much boost?
jeff.
i think kyle had them that low. and yes its the new s100 system, they discontinued the stages from what i ahve read on htech. then again. who knows lol i would ssy hondata reguardless though, i hate fmu's. |

That's a really good idea, their professionals and have scientific data to figure out my setup, no guessing. Between Jeff and you guys I figured out how to do my whole setup. Once I get my setup all done I'll post pics. Thanks for the help everyone! |
