I was thinking about picking up a used one for my turbo, but i hear from around the way that they where pretty shitty... but I dunno, i trust HMT to give me the real deal.

yeah i was looking at tial, and i notice that they are 2 flange openings... why is that? Can I block one opening, and if I do that, what what would I need to do (besides making a plate to block)?

 

well one opening is for exhaust gas in, and the other is for out.

 

so the one that does not have the valve facing it has nothing connected to it? Like I have a manifold for a 33mm wastegate... what does the other flange opening connect, if it does at all?

 

Exhaust in one and out the other. You can route it back into your exhaust you just a dumptube straight into the atmosphere.

 

Some called it a "melta gate", but I don't know.


Yeah, ask hotrex about his used wastegate that he bought from some nobody and it turned out to be broken. Sounds like an obx problem.
