no ---- you might try clocking the center section, all it takes is to remove the dowell that locates the exhaust housing |
Re: Water/Oil Inlets/Outlets, can they be swapped?
yeah thats all i was trying to clock, not the whole cold side. Where is this dowell located?

Re: Water/Oil Inlets/Outlets, can they be swapped?

Re: Water/Oil Inlets/Outlets, can they be swapped?
alright i admit it was a stupid ------- question, i just thought of it sitting here so i decided to ask about it, my bad
but moving on, for real. I've had the clamp off the center section, i've had the cold side of the turbo loose, but i can't rotate the whole thing becasue the way the wastegate is attached, so i would really like to know what i need to do to rotate the center section. It would be highly appreciated |

^ i did read that already, thanks though. It didn't help at all becasue my housing doesn't have the simple bolts that allow you to rotate it, i rotated my old turbo just fine using the same method in that DIY but I just don't understand why this new one won't rotate. Here's pictures to show you that the whole thing is loose, i just can't find a way to spin it:
Pictures Attachment 13919 Attachment 13920 Attachment 13921 Attachment 13922 Attachment 13923 The clamp is off in these pictures, from the looks of i don't see any thing that's holding the section from rotating |
Re: How do you rotate the center section on a 14b?
There was a pin and a hole you use to line them up.. at one point in time. I just cut the pin off so I could rotate it.

Re: How do you rotate the center section on a 14b?
im sure taking it off would help alot

Re: How do you rotate the center section on a 14b?
Get old bucket of used oil. Dump turbo in bucket for a couple days. Been working since day one. And if you have old oil around its FREE

Re: How do you rotate the center section on a 14b?
He's a bitch. That little tiny dick pin and oil crud is holding it together. PB blaster and a hammer then knock that little pin off.

Re: How do you rotate the center section on a 14b?
yeah i really apologize for even posting this, i was searchign for the wrong thing and then put it specifically "rotating 14b" and found like 5 threads about rotating a 14b, sorry guys. And yeah taking the cold side off would help alot, i just didn't have a 12-point socket to get teh wastegate actuator off, but it's actually off now and i found the pin. I'll get it out of there, rotate the center section and re-install it. Thanks guys
