Re:How do i use SS braided line on my oil return without the threading thing
ok I spent like $45.00 on diffierent fittings since I live withing driving distance of summit racing. I was going to use -10 braided line but i couldnt. it was too tight a fit afer adding the hose ends and trying all combinations of 90's 45's ect, I gave up. It just would not thread on.
I used a bulkhead in the oilpan and connected some i think it was 5/8's hose and clamps. Although I problebly put the bulhead to close to the turbo it was too late then I already had a hole in the oilpan. -10an hose dose not bend real easy. If i ever get my digital camera up I will post a few pics.

can i weld the above to my oil return on my TURBO FLANGE? i can just saw it off and use the flange part and weld it on.. right?
my oil return flange is like this
see, i don't want to do what this guy is doing, that's dangerous to me, so i want to cut the metal tube off and weld that fitting on top! is it possible? and also what material should i use? how can i check what material my oulet flange is?

There really isn't anything wrong with using rubber hose for the oil return as long as it is rated with adequate temperature and pressure capacities. I'm using barbed fittings that are JB welded and it's still working!

Can you use a braided hose with the setup like the one above, my turbo also has just the 1/2" pipe, so I'm using my braided line with a hose clamp on the turbo side and then the Earl's 45 degree swivel on the oil pan side. Is this fine?

that's my problem, even if i can use hose clamps with the braided hose, it's not safe, might come off and it's not "proper"
I asked people here a simple question. "CAN I WELD THAT SILVER FITTING ONTO THE 1/2" METAL PIPE THING IF I SAW OFF THE PIPE OR DO I HAVE TO MAKE A STUPID ADAPTER PLATE?"

Is it possible? Probably. Good idea, probably not.
Call a metal (or machine) shop around you and ask for a 2 1/2" x 1" x 1/2" piece of steel. Order a 3/8" NPT to 10AN adapter from summit, buy the tap at sears, and drill 3 holes in the steel bar. 1 big one in the center that you will tap for the fitting, and 2 smaller ones to run bolts through. I did it that way and I've had no oil leaks for 6k miles.
