you already have one thread going with plenty of people responding with answers, why make another

and if your gonna boost 6psi why even bother putting it on :l

cuz i don't wanna be a weekend warrior everone turbo's these d-series by me and blows them up rebuilds them that weekend and blows them up again they run any where from 8-12psi if im gonna build a car im gonna run low boost until i get the internals to run like 12-15psi i mean ---- i hear everone running there 11psi d-series on stock internals what are they doing that a ---- load of people by me arent i just dont wanan be another statisic to everone that says d-series suck and blow up all the time

get some balls. and if your engine is that precious to you maybe you should leave it N/A so it can have a long life.

My d saw 8 and 12psi daily! Just make sure you have good fueland spark!! AND NO FMU!!!

You can make it adjustable by cutting the wastegate actuator arm then taking a die to each side to thread em. Then buy an extension bolt with two locker nuts. After that your adjustable. Search for it, theres a diagram on how to do it.

If people by you are blowing up motors every weekend running 8psi than there's something seriously wrong. With a good tune (even a semi crappy one that's really conservative) you should have no problem running the stock wg on a 14b. It's gated at 8psi stock.

Only problem with this is you get SERIOUS Lag. I had huge lag when I put my car back together last season, Flapper was only floppy just a tiny bit.

Run 8-9 that it is, or but a t3 wastegate that is around 5.5psi.

Re: how to change boost on 14b im clueless

yea i heard serious turbo lag when u make or lenthing the rod i mean the motor is fine runs strong only has 102k so im not worried about that just i wanna run the lower boost until forged internals come when i get some money, i mean i can lower the boost for now and always get it back so...worse comes to worse i will do the cutting the wastegate actuator arm then taking a die to each side and thread em.

thanks for the help,

Re: how to change boost on 14b im clueless

if your not going to spend the time and money on a good tune and the fuel management to go with it that will preserve your motor at 10psi then there isnt any point in you putting that turbo on

im running 12psi daily on a bone stock D16Z6 that's never been cracked open and it runs great, but i have proper fuel management and a good tune

people who blow there motors at 8psi are either idiots or idiots with a shitty tune and shitty fuel management

and from reading your second post, thats exactly what everyone near you isnt doing, is getting proper fuel management and a good tune, do that and you'll be fine at 10psi

i would go with a fuel pressure regulator and chipped ecu also a inline fuel pump, i have a place by me that tunes so thats not a problem, thats why i dont ask them for ---- i go on here and all if i let them run my ---- it would blow up fast, thanks

noboostedEGo 03-13-2006 07:48 PM

Re: how to change boost on 14b im clueless

If you're going with a chipped ecu you don't need an fpr or an inline pump. You'll control fuel fine with the stock fpr if it's tuned well, and generally people only get an inline pump because they handle really high pressure (for like fmu setups), your stock fuel pump is good to like 250whp anyways.

dam 250 i thought alot less then that, thanks for all the help now i gotta make fun of all the people that have blown them up at 8-10psi when people are doing 12
