FYI screens only protect intakes from debris on the track, not on the street. My compressor can tell you how i know that.

That's why you run a few layers of pantyhose over the screen ;)

Wasn't this the same filter where a guy made like 40 whp by taking it off?

LOL, that wouldn't be much better than using a wad of newspaper.

Removing the filter i've been running was worth 8hp.

I might take the beater to see what it does. The hatch is going to be on jackstands for another month or so.

I hoping to break 110 whp after switching back to a A6 cam. The big Crane cam did a number on the stock valvesprings, it won;t pull past 7100-7200 rpm in second gear now......

Chiovnidca 11-22-2006 06:47 AM

Re: homemade fresh air intake

I'm gonna guess 190hp on mine. Been running a used greddy kit for nearly five years.

Is there a reason you wanna stick with the a6 cam? Versus maybe trying a delta/gude? (I have heard bad things about Gude's customer service I guess).

Don't mean to threadjack, but anytime Bone ------s some knowledge is pretty advantageous.

I like your shoes. and your "ram air" induction there, too bad theres a big nasty snail on the end of that pipe, could have taken advantage of that low pressure up front. ;D

The daily beater did a little better than I thought it would. Too bad it was a kit. :)

My buddy piped up a fresh air intake with a velocity stack out of the driver's side headlight. He says it helps, but what do you guys think? Does it really work that well?
