Homemade Catchcan
I made this catchcan out of an oil can and a couple of barbed fittings which I picked up for 5 bucks at the local auto parts store. I used JB Weld to seal the fittings to the can. Why pay 30 bucks when you can have the same results for a fraction of the cost!
good idea.. did u put baffling in the can??..
im going to try and use the a/c condeser filter or w/e it is.. heres a pic..

and cut it in half and add a drain plug on the bottom.. ill post pictures when i attempt it.. i think it will work.. and im going to use the hoses/pipes that normally connect to it.. and cut the pipes and connect hose to them..

Essentially whats need for these catch cans? Just an inlet and outlet and something in there (steel wool seems to be common}
Does it matter how big they are? And this is eventually gonna get full of oil right and Ill have to drain it or make a drain plug?

i was gonna drill a hole in the bottom of the one i posted and use the top 2 as the in/out.. also im going to try and make it so it can still be opened.. and the baffeling changed out and give it a better cleaning then just removing the plug.. or ill just not make a drain end empty it like that.. maybe use a 2" coupler after i cut it to hold it together..
any ideas?
