i got 2 of them grainger valves today fro 21.10 ;D cant wait to get my boost control on

some one should make a spimple electronic surcit taht would hoook up to the vss (vihicel speed sender) and would count the electrical pulses so you can have a step boost control by gear from knowing your speed it would know waht gear your in just like a high buck apexi unit or greddy
this would be the ultimade boost control plust it will carry the HMT logo for doing ---- ceaper better and it being faster then your shiney name brand ----! ;D

I toyed with that idea, even tried to modify an RPM switch to do the trick, but I didn't go to in depth with it. As my electronics skills don't go any deeper than designing simple logic circuits like the one in the diagram. In reality this piece actually worked out fairly well, but I took it off while I was trying to tune in my new setup and never put it back on... Laziness owns me

If you want a cheaper speed based boost controller try using the Crome Pro + gold rom. I think is has 2 or 3 user programmable outputs. I haven't messed with it yet to find out though. I've been rather dormant from wrenching/tweaking lately.

Thanks to all the posters than found this thread useful.

i tried this setup but the solenoids were 2 restrictive for me. 6lb spring, and it kept hitting my boost cut at ten psi. Everything was hooked up right and functioned but was 2 restrictive.

ive looked at this thread many times and have just now realized how this boost controller multiple settings works.
pretty good idea.

it would almost be just as easy to find a toy or electric appliance that has a spinning motor in it and
hook that up to your adjustable ball and spring. then just make some type of control to turn the threads up or down
on a single homemade boost ctrlr.

then at a stop sign you could just up your boost.

Hope this isn't repeat info, I could only read through so many pages of "does this work?" "how does this work?" "I'm a noob and put the fitting up my nose and now I can't get boost or breathe." Here are some helpful links with good pictures.

boost control

Also, I prefer this version over the G-valve

How to make a Manual Boost Controller....that works. - DSM Forums

The G-valve is $10 and it doesn't even have any ------- nipples. I've made a few, but the home depot style winds up being cheaper and easier to use for me.

When I make them I use a 1/4-20 screw and nut because they come in 3 packs at home depot for 75 cents. I also drill the plug from the bottom, there is a cone shape at the bottom that perfectly centers the drill bit. Spring from an old pen, 6mm airsoft pellet (I use glow in the dark for that pimp JDM look  ) and you're ready to rock.

Some solenoids are designed restrictive for different purposes, so be careful which ones you use. Generally any of them from a dodge car from '83-93 have worked well for me. Whatever you do, don't pay more than $5 for a god damn solenoid.

Hopefully after you've made a 2 stage boost controller, you'll be able to understand the first page enough to make a 3 stage like Speed Phreak has.

Here is my easy mechanical system, no switches or driver input needed. Its intended to control VNT/VGT turbos but it works exactly the same on wastegated systems.

I have some needs for Homemade Boost contro, but do you need turbocharger vs supercharger, turbo technics and turbo parts?
