I would assume that with 2.5" pipes you have an area of 4.9" X 10psi = ~49lbs pulling on the coupler (this is what I run). With 3" pipes you have an area of 7" X 10psi = ~70lbs pulling on the coupler (good luck). 2" pipe is 3.14 area which makes it even more more forgiving and I bet it could handle 15-16psi on the home depot couplers :8 |

2.5 piping, hitting 10-13psi no problems at all. I even had one connected directly to the turbo for about 2 months. Then it gave away. A word of advice, if you have 2.5in piping you'll need a 2in coupler. They don't measure for ID on the HD couplers.

i used Hd couplers on my low boost d set up. i needed someting small enough to fit on the outlet of my saab 42/48 turbo that will connect to my 2.5 piping and HD had the perfect coupler. i also use one 90 degree coupler. just tighten the hell out of them you will be fine

bump for homedepot couplers i used ace hardeware plumbing couplers held 14psi strait got them to hold 20 with hairspray

never saw them at the homedepot near me had to go to lowes, they work ok as long as there is no bend to them, if the two ic tubes dont meet straight on they will pop off at low boost

plumbers refer to them by their " fernco" brand name.
they should work fine. but if you really want some extra secuity, try some no-hub couplings made for cast iron pipe. theyre reinforced with a steel sleeve, and have a little lip in the inside. http://ezcoupling.com/resources/IMG_0072.jpg |

I'm trying different ways to hold in 23psi boost... They hold great for a couple days then the pipes literally blow apart. Going to try wrapping the HD specials with ductape onto the pipe over the hose clamps... grr.
