I don't think they could hold up to the temperatures of the oil.

so what would be the cheapest way for me to make up a oil feed line?? I see summitracing.com has aeroquip AQP racing hose but I have no idea what AN sizing means to be honest?? I'm piecing my kit together from the remains of a friends greddy kit so I know I need a 1/8" fitting for the turbo side and I know the block is tapped with 1/8" too...

what is this in AN sizing?? or does that not make any sense?? sigh...

In the "USER FAQ" there is a list of everything you would need to know including sizes.

they won't hold up to temperature of the oil. i'm using fuel line, but i thought i was getting fuel injection line. i'm going to switch. what i have is sae 30r7 that will hold up to 257 degree and up to 300 psi burst pressure, but i came across some in the same 1/4 inch id that is sae 30r9 that is up to 275 degree and 500 psi burst pressure. if the aeroquip stuff is same price i might go with that since it has the bling bling of braided covering.

what an size is the equivalent of 1/4 inch id?

what would be the temp and pressure of the oil? from the specs on fuel line hose it looks like even they can hold up but we all know they dont.. 300F and 150psi?

i took a cooking thermometer and held the probe against the hoses and the oil got up to 150 degree and and coolant got to 155 degree. figure the jacket of the hose probably insulates for 10-20 degrees?

The Homeboy Depot braided steel lines are for water, and are not going to last any amount of time exposed to petroleum products.

XDEep is onto something... tranny line aka rubber hydraulic hose will work fine. As was mentioned earlier, check the site's articles and featured builds - I remember Jeff using some with barb fittings and hose clamps on a build. Just be very careful how you route it so it doesn't rub through the hose and it should last a few good years. I have some with -4 AN fittings on it, with a foot of Earl's Flameguard sleeve for near the turbo to replace my hard steel line with.

Personally, I go to a place called "Asheville Hose" for all my braided steel oil lines (or rubber like I got). 1 foot braided steel -4 AN, 3 foot braided steel -4 AN, Tee, modified Homeboy Depot A-79 1/8" NPT to 1/4" flare adapters (walk the seat back from 45 degrees to 37 degrees on a mini-lathe) and Sunpro oil fitting for the back of the block set Atlee back $45. The two -4 AN braided steel lines were $35 of that. Check your phone book for industrial hose suppliers, this stuff is silly cheap.
