HMT Mustang
I finally convinced my buddy into turbocharging his Mustang, so here I am
Few questions.. Fuel management, should I bother trying to get him something good or just stick with an FMU for a while? I'm thinking FMU since he'll be running low boost for a while.
What size turbo do you think would be good? IHI RHB5 for now?
Anything you guys can suggest, I'd like to hear it

Re: HMT Mustang
Thanks for the response.. It's a four cylinder, oh my goodness, it's not like 95% of the people on here have four cylinders or anything
I've just been doing some looking around and noticed there were 3 cars Ford made that were turbocharged with the parts that are interchangeable, and bolt-on for my buddies car. I'm thinking we'll go that route, if we can. Anyone else have an actual opinion?

i am pretty sure that you can use the stuff off of the other ford cars. but i would just swap over the entire motor it will allow you to run more boost. there is a write up on doing the swaps into a ranger on therangerstation.com

Re: HMT Mustang
4 cylinder , low horsepower, low torque motor in a heavy RWD car=dog turd slow.
As always, I would stay away from the teeny tiny IHI turbos. I'm sure that motor is bigger than the average Honda 4 cylinder so I'm sure it can spool a fairly good sized turbo. I say .48/.60 T3 minimum. Run 6-8psi and call it a day.
List some more information about the car, motor size, tranny, miles....

Check out turboford.org too, some of the people are a little snotty there but theres plenty of info there. Also even the n/a motors can take quite a bit so dont be afraid to crank up the boost. One guy, i think he's bhuff30 or something like that over on turboford, was running 15psi on a stock motor and never had any problems.....until he popped a hose of the fpr. And anyways what year is the car? is it mass air or speed density?
