they put batterys on plastic trays int he factory to stop them from bleeding off their energy.

right, because the plastic of the battery conducts electricity, yet the plastic tray does not.

You've owned plenty of old shitheaps that didn't have a plastic battery tray and the battery box was rusted out from the acid. I know I have.

not really.. just you and your 1970's ford vans with over-charged batteries puking battery acid. closest i ever came to a rusted battery tray was the dual batteries in my international, corrosion on the edge and thats it
