high compression low boost?

i have a GSR motor with p30 pistons. Cspeed says its 11.5:1 compression ratio. when i do a compression test its like 220. is it safe to put a turbo on it?? everything else is stock. if i boost it will be low. just wondering if its safe??

been there done that.........i was turboing 11-11.5:1, now i am turboing 10.8:1

u can turbo it, but u have to get really good management and injectors........basically u have less room for error......

i wanna keep the pistons in there. maybe just a new headgasket i only want 220hp out of this maybe boost 5 pounds.

If you only want 220whp, then stay all motor. If your going turbo, then swap in some 9:1 pistons and go for 300whp.

exactly!! if you really do want to boost your project and not be so worried about the high compression, just throw in a thicker head gasket to lower you compression a little and you'll be ready to go. like chingro said, you can turbo it with th compression you have but you have to have a very good managment and there is less room for tuning errors
