theres an easy way to make locknuts.

lay the nut on a flat steel or hardwood.

take a sharp edge chisel, lay across the one hex of the nut cutting it in half, so to speak. hit chisel with hammer, putting lock points into nut. can repeat again at a 90º angle, making an X on the nut surface.


generic locknuts!

can also use star lock washers, ---- the split ones. those are made so they can be taken apart and don't hold as good.
