HF Manifold Gasket (turbo)

Alright... here's the thing. I've had the same turbokit for about 5+ years now and it's great. Here's the thing.... I've been making my own gaskets out of a steel mesh gasket material that came from autozone. They don't even sell it anymore. The problem happens when my turbo bolts (or manifold bolts) get a little loose and allows for exhaust to pass through the crack. This burns up the gasket, and I'm tired of hand-making them. So really, I have two problems.

1. I need to find the orignal gaskets (HF Manifold gasket (outlet side) (or I believe it was the CAT gasket?), and the IHI Turbo gasket.
2. Keep my bolts from backing out.

I use lock washers, but they come out with time. Let me know what some y'all do for this.

For the HF gasket get one at Autozone or Advance, they're like $10. They should have a turbo gasket kit too for whatever car that came off of. They had a generic DSM turbo gasket kit at Autozone for all Eclipse turbos. I spent maybe $40 total on the HF and DSM gaskets.

i had the same problem with the bolts backing out, so I used studs/nuts instead of bolts. I dont get that problem anymore. (i think, I havent driven it boosted lately :l)

locking nuts, not the cheap nylon ones either.

I may be using the wrong loc-tite... mine melts off or some crazy thing.

I'll get the correct gaskets & then get some locking nuts

Make studs out of allthread then use some jamnuts. It won't be going anywhere after that.

you can get the hf manifold gasket from a honda dealer. try napa, or schucks as well. for the turbo go with felpro crush style.
try loctite red for higher temps

Re: HF Manifold Gasket (turbo)

Vatozone sells it all, at lower than dealer prices. It might be difficult to do the allthread idea for a large metric pattern, but I don't even know if the IHI has metric bolts. Regardless figure out some way to use jamnuts. I promise they will work fine for you.

Safety wire ftw! haha.... Use REAL locknuts i.e. The nut is oval shaped or cut smaller at the end. Nylon ones are junk when you get that much heat.
