HF Manifold, Evo III Big 16g Turbo, 300 WHP?

Like the title says, i'm going to try to do 300 HP on my built D16A6 next summer. Is this conceivable with the HF mani?

20+psi, then your pushing the turbo to the limits

Id upgrade turbos

t3/t04e 57 trim

use google and type in what you want to search and then add site:homemadeturbo.com to the end of it.

ex. My setup site:homemadeturbo.com

now post porn. ;)

Odd, I thought I was the only one getting this problem.

What does your setup consist of? Do you have any other specific turbo parts in mind?

Evo III Big 16g turbo, Arias pistons, Eagle rods, stock sleeves, 550's, turbo edit, etc.

After doing some research on H-T I think i'll be able to do it, but only with pushing the turbo to it's limits. I think I may have to pony up the extra cash and be nice to my motor.

300WHP is definitely possible with the HF mani

But if I used it, I'd have to run alot more boost, right? I know I could do it, but I don't wanna have to run 20 lbs of boost just to get 300 hp.

Why the ---- does having to run more boost equal a bad thing in your mind?

Because you will get the "danger to manifold" warning on your laptop. :S

I say build the kit you want and then see what you can get outta it. ---- planning. Just get a kit and then replace parts as needed.

Yeah, well, it's just a warning screen. Honduhs don't lose floorboards like DSMs. :1

Well, If I can make 300 hp by running a "mini-pro mani" and 15 lbs of boost, or run 20 lbs of boost on an HF mani, i'd rather run the 15 lbs. It's alot easier on the motor.

That was a gross exageration, just to demonstrate a point.

Do you think that an HF mani w/ adapter plate would be able to flow enough to acheive 300 whp w/out having to stress the turbo? It ain't the biggest turbo in the world...

Tom-Guy 12-22-2006 11:08 PM

Re: HF Manifold, Evo III Big 16g Turbo, 300 WHP?

Firstly, I neither know nor care about the exact nature of the 16G turbo you are proposing to use. Small 16G, big 16G, the big 16G on the Evo8 that is apparently 400+ whp worth of turbo, etc, their common factor is that they are all Mitsufeces units and come bolted to slow heavy AWD fagmobiles and so I do not care.

Secondly, the HF manifold presenting itself as a restriction has zero to do with how hard the turbo labors.

Just pick a turbo that flows your desired power level worth of air, and crank the boost until you hit it. Welcome to turbo 101.

The turbo is a perfect match for my setup. I just didn't want to have to crank the boost up more than I had too. Keep as much stress off of the motor as possible.

i hope your kidding :1

and as far as a 16g goes. if you plan on using any 16g between the evo 4 through 8, it aint gonna happen on an hf manifold because all evo 4 through 8 16g turbos are duel scroll. therefore you will have to make a custom manifold the divides cylinders 1 and 4 from 2 and 3.

i missed it that it was an evo 3. but yes all evo 4 through 8 are duel scroll

blowing the welds on the intake at 20 psi? :1

he goes too fast and his intake manifold was gonna blow up then his floorboard falls off :1 lollercaust

And to the originator of this post.. do you realize that 5 psi on one turbo could be the same flow as 15 psi on another, potentially exposing your turbo to the same "damage" taht you already fear >:D

Just do it, pansy.

Re: HF Manifold, Evo III Big 16g Turbo, 300 WHP?

The only reason I wouldn't want to run more boost on my motor with a smaller turbo is the chance of detonation and diminishing returns as the boost goes up.

Pump gas typically isn't very friendly with small turbos and high boost.

you are a very big retard do you even know what dual scroll means ???

yes you can use it with a hf ignore this fag

Re: HF Manifold, Evo III Big 16g Turbo, 300 WHP?

16 psi on an IHI is balls, son.

You can run dual scroll like a normal turbo with unpaired cylinders.

And this is how we know you bought 405 whp and didn't build it.
