I'm planning on doing a turbo setup on my 00 civic dx, and was wondering if it will be possible for me to clear my A/C using an HF manifold? Doesn't look like it but has anyone done it? and if so what turbo did you use? or any ideas to make it work? Thanks.

 

what turbo do you eant to use.. ifmodded it for external wastegate and made a banana style adapter plate it might work

 

I dont have a turbo yet, thinking about a 14b or td04? so ill get which ever turbo that will allow a/c. I dont really care, its for my dx motor to mess around with during the school break. I have a side mount intercooler and an HF manifold just sitting around, so I thought I'd put them to use. I'm just looking for any suggestions on which one will alow me to keep a/c. (imma wuss, need the A/C ). no one's done this?? I need suggestions from the pros. thanx.

If you want to do it, you better have a welder. Your basically gonna have to build the manifold/turbo/chargepipes around all of your a/c stuff. I'm sure it could be done, but there's no "instructions" or write ups if that's what your looking for.

 

I have a welder. I guess no ones done this? Well, I guess I'll have to be the first to try it.

 

Nobody has done it because A/C sucks *****.

 

it's been done but why go thru all that hassle when you can get ac compatible mani's for cheap?

 

Yea, I just want to buy as little as possible. Since i got alot of the stuff already. I'm one of those guys that are ummmmm... what do you call them?? POOOR heh, but if I can't pipe around my a/c then i guess ill just buy one. Thanks for the input guys.

 

you can have a custom adapter plate made to off set it a little and modify your manifold to use an external wg. it's very possible, just not as easy as ripping a/c out :P
