1.9 block with 2.0 8 valve head (low compresstion) @ 17psi 212whp/262wtq (1-7/8" Exhaust & 10:1 AFR). (^Both with IHI Turbo and off the chart rich) This current non-intercooled set up @ 5psi is probly making ~145whp/165wtq. This car with A/C and P/S is 2300lbs, my other Escort is a base model with manual steering and no A/C is about 2150lbs. |

The stock internal waste gate on the T25 is about 8psi, that's just a little too high for the way I have it set up right now. So in order to run lower boost then the waste gate setting, I disconnected the waste gate from the flapper, and used just a spring (shown here) to hold the door shut with just enough pressure to run 5psi. I call it more of a cheap basterd getto style.
Any internal waste gate can be modified like that, Just disconnect the waste gate actuator rod from the flapper door and use a spring to hold the flapper shut. The harder the spring pressure, the higher the boost your gonna run.
