Default Helped friend install turbo last night on civic and it makes 0 PSI wtf???

Spec of install. 95 civic couple, d-series motor, 14b turbo, dsm injectors with resistor box, chip ecu with uberdata (have chip burner made own tune), all the tubing with fmic, hks bov, i think like hx manifold with adapter plate, and a manual boost contorler going to waste gate.

So we spend all night last night till 3 a.m. getting all this on and go for a road test and this thing makes 0 psi of boost. messed with the the boost controller took it out routed vacuum lines all different ways (not that there are many configurations possible) the waste gate moves freely if you put shop air to diaphragm. Car is running just as if it was N/A no loss of power. Only thing i got left to try is to take the turbo of the manifold and see if somehow something is plugging flow cause you can't even really hear the turbo try to spool it makes a woo woo noise but not the standard turbo noise. He got the setup off craigs list and we never took turbo off manifold.

Any other ideas as to why it would make zero boost other than not enough exhaust flow, i would thing even if the turbo was "worn out" it would still make at least 1 psi of boost.

None that we can see I am thinking its turbo or pre-turbo problem cause even if there was a charge pipe leak I would hear the turbo spooling real well but i can't. How big of an exhaust leak would it take cause there is a small real small leak at the adapter plate to manifold. that why i am headed over to take that all apart it a little bit.

I have heard there is like a donut style gasket where turbo goes to adapter plate than can break and hinder exhaust flow.

Seems a little exhaust leak would let you make a little boost or even spool the turbo some i mean the turbo is so little.

I don't think the little tiny exhaust leak would prevent it from spooling. My friends talon had a leak between the turbo and manifold and the hanracecraft turbo still mangaged to go to 20psi no problem.

Sounds like you need to hook up an oil line and get a new turbo Nah jk I dunno I used stainless steel studs on the adapter plate combo holding everything together with lock nuts. Works like a charm and I dont see it ever leaking

Well took it all apart exhaust housing is cracked by waste gate probably not causing issues. but the fins have at one point hit the housing on the turbo. He is picking up a used turbo minus the exhaust housing so I will swap in the new center section and hope it works. and also there was a big exhaust leak at the adapter plate cause the nuts were loose. So easy to over look stupid stuff at 3am.
