i bought a ss auto chrome manifold today and i think i made a big mistake, when i started reading about it on this forum can someone tell me whats wrong with them, i bought it for 100$ , should i just ---- it or go with the manifold.

just research into how to properly brace them

if you make a brace fomr the block supporting the turbo, the mani wont have any stress which is what causes the material they use to crack

Best $100 youll spend if you take an hour to make a 1/2 descent brace

 

Hate to say this.. but if you didn't buy it already paypal the guy like, $4 for the auction and say you don't want it.

If you did buy it.. brace the hell out of it.

 

Projekteg wrote a good writeup on how to brace one. it's around on HMT somewhere.

 

is this a good manifold? or if you can tell me whats the best manifold for the buck, nothing to expensive i change my cars all the time so somthing affordable

Most intelligent, honest and positive post from someone I've heard in awhile. Shitbird makes some incredible manifolds here and if you just post up in the wanted section and ask for a custom manifold you should get a pretty good response from fabber here. SSL2K makes very nice and affordable log manifolds and have seen them in person.

 

I too agree. Mine was braced and still broke in other places :P
