i bought a ss auto chrome manifold today and i think i made a big mistake, when i started reading about it on this forum can someone tell me whats wrong with them, i bought it for 100$ , should i just ---- it or go with the manifold.

they have crappy welds, a shitty design with tiny runners and a bad collector, and they have a habit of breaking. enjoy

just research into how to properly brace them

if you make a brace fomr the block supporting the turbo, the mani wont have any stress which is what causes the material they use to crack

Best $100 youll spend if you take an hour to make a 1/2 descent brace

Hate to say this.. but if you didn't buy it already paypal the guy like, $4 for the auction and say you don't want it.

If you did buy it.. brace the hell out of it.

is this a good manifold? or if you can tell me whats the best manifold for the buck, nothing to expensive i change my cars all the time so somthing affordable

Most intelligent, honest and positive post from someone I've heard in awhile. Shitbird makes some incredible manifolds here and if you just post up in the wanted section and ask for a custom manifold you should get a pretty good response from fabber here. SSL2K makes very nice and affordable log manifolds and have seen them in person.

Just buy one from BMC or Shitbird.They are both members here.

We have a water cooled computer at school. We even have a tiny little radiator, I'm cutting out the front of the computer so it looks like an intercooler :P

you should get a micro sized electric turbocharger, and use it to flow more air to your radiator/intercooler

I built a water cooled computer last year. Maze 2 waterblock, AquaVIA 1300 pump, Ford Ranger heater core with 2 120 mil fans. All silicone hose. It was great. I gave the system away to a friend. I overclock on air now.

I built a freon cooled computer 2-3 years ago. Took the processor down to -33°C on R401B refrigerant.

Overclocking the processor, making it faster (Think of it as adding a turbo).

What do you add to make the engine (motherboard) cool down? Intercooler (water cooler). Makes it so that you can make the computer quicker without killing it. ;)

As far as cooking with the manifold, I remember on the speed channel they were showing world rally racing and they were going up some course that took around 30min to complete. Two of the guys wrapped steak and potatoes in tin foil and wedged it near the engine somehow. When they got to the top it was cooked and they chowed down.

I'd never use it :-X but for the sake of discussion don't you want your manifold to RETAIN heat, not dissipate it, as this manifold was clearly designed to do? And what kind of metal is that? Aluminum? :-X Otherwise it looks like it would flow as well as any Drag mani, with an original design.

EDIT: Okay, I just read that it is "solid steel billet" but if that were the case wouldn't it weigh more than 9 lbs.?
