Help me find a Grand National Turbo!
I am looking for a 'built to spec' turbo, to match against the turbos used in the 84 Buick Grand National.
Though I havne't drove the car in a while, I am pretty sure the turbo is shot. Anyways, I have tried contacting dealerships for this turbo but appearantly 2 years ago they stopped marketing the turbos themselves. So I am hoping someone here might know where to locate one or at least a turbo that is equivalent and works with the factory bolt pattern for the headers. On a relative note, I am also looking for the intercooler setup that was featured in the later model GNs. I have had no luck finding any sort of a 'conversion' kit, and I'd like to keep the car as factory as possible for value. Thanks! |

Re:Help me find a Grand National Turbo!
I want a GN real bad... they are awesome.
down at the dragstrip the other night, I was just standing where the cars launch from, and a GN pulls up smoking the tires and such... and jeez that turbo sounds GOOD on that thing. |

Re:Help me find a Grand National Turbo!
The GN is the reason the technology for modern turbo cars exsist. GM didn't want people to know it, but the GN in bone stock form with ONLY drag radicals could stomp the piss outta a brand new C5..
My friends GN is 800HP... The compressor surge comment was b/c they don't have a BOV ?... leave the line with 17psi on a 3.8L V6 on slicks, then you'll say....."buick"?? "WTF" !! I wish they didn't look like 87' buick regals... Ever heard of a BU-Stang ?? hehe, got my GN parts in my garage waitng !! |

Re:Help me find a Grand National Turbo!
my friends has 32K orig. miles, and he flips his wig if you shut the door using those leather straps on the inside of the door... We were going to put his car is storage for a week to swap his dad's motor, and he refused to let my 2 year old daughter ride in it, so we had to wait at his house, he is CRAZY ---- !!! No less the paint on his GN looks 100xs better then my 01' focus...

"Type R's are slow only low 15 second 1/4.... so anything can basicaly stomp a C5. "
I think he ment c5 as in a C5 corvette, not a b18c5 |
Re:Help me find a Grand National Turbo!
