okay so heres the deal...my buddy and i were driving my hatch and a wrx pulled up next to us...he was revving his engine and wanted to race so i downshifted to 3rd and smoked him...right after the race my car started over heating so i drove it back to my buddies house about a mile away from where we were...as i got into town i heard knocking coming from the engine....after we pulled in to the drive way i popped the hood and looked around...to my surprise i saw oil all over from my turbo...i looked closer and saw that the oil feed line was disconnected...then i checked the dipstick for oil and saw none...so i added about 2 1/2 quart of oil into the engine and tightened the oil feed line...i went back to start up the car hoping that the knocking was gone...but nope still there...so where the hell is the knocking coming from....my head?? rod bearings?? hopefully nothing expensive because i just bought the motor 2 weeks ago freshly built...

next time when the oil pressure light comes on, shut the car off and tow it home

My gauge on my talon pegged 40psi one time on my holset. Came home heard it knocking and didnt think anything of it. Added oil but the sound was still there. Ripped it apart one day and found 2 bent "big" rods.

well i just started up my engine....it doesn't knock above 2k rpm...so maybe that might help...and also i have 75.5mm vitara pistons and crower h beam rods...

no oil = junk motor... that simple.

first off there should have been a massive cloud coming from ur exhaust, and it should of felt a lot different.

you can have rod knock without a huge loss in power

there was no cloud of smoke...then engine still runs with the same power...just a little knocking...

well ya most def have a spun bearing it may not be that bad yet so why dont ya just pull the head and pan and replace the bearing before you kill the crank

yep it really would suck to buy new ---- just becuse you were too dumb to have oil in your car then you were to dumb to fix it
