Default Help Me.

I got this turbo for free, and I am turbo illiterate. I know its off an old Saab and its a Garrett M4 but I cannot find any information on here about these things. I am trying to find out where I can buy new gaskets and get some info. Anything will be appreciated, also this will be going on a D16Z6.

there should be a casting on the exhaust and compressor housing that states the air ratio of each housing. they made a bunch of different configurations so the air ration numbers will be a ble to tell you what you have. there also should be a plate with garrett part numbers that you should be able to cross reference.

48 a/r exhaust housing and its probably a 40-50 a/r compressor housing. its looks to be a t3 inlet flange. my guess is its a t25 or a t28 turbo.

is the center housing dissassembled? is there shaft play? the only seal on the exhaust housing is a metal seal(it looks like a cap). you should see it mounted behind the impeller shaft. to mount the exhaust housing to the center housing there should be bolts and 2 or 3 plates. the plates actually hold the exhaust housing to the center housing. if you dont have any of these parts i would find another turbo to use. save yourself some headache.
