Help identify this turbo please....
 
A friend of mine just gave me this turbo today so I could start my project. I was hoping it was a T3 flange but its not and I'm not sure which flange it is.

I believe the turbo is from a early to mid 80's chrysler laser or other 2.2 turbo. If anyone knows any information on this I'd really appreciate it :) You know like what the wastegate is set at...i beleive ypsi. Maybe a compressor map

I'm curious how you know it comes specifically from a daytona... also i've read they were T3's but why is the exhaust inlet flange not a T3.... I compared it to my old thunderbird manifold and they dont match at all.... :(

its not a t3 they're called m10s. .42 hot .48 colt

but i believe you can slap on a t3 exhaust housing with the same ar on there... :)

Those are the bastard chrysler turbos, they can be found on any of the 2.2l ---- engines. They are a T3 center section, with a goofy exhaust housing by chrysler, so it makes things really difficult when using these on custom turbo projects. your limited to using the factory o2 housing, because nobody has aftermarket flanges for the inlet or exhaust dump. The center section, is just a basic .42/.48 T3. If you could find a saab/volvo/ford housing you could swap them on.

We have tons of those turbos in our local yards..

As mentioned above, yes set at 7psi. Great for a D-series project.

Not quite understanding what you mean by hot and colt there...two diff versions of the turbo maybe?

Thankyou everyone for the help. Any idea on what kind of cfm these produce or how many psi they are capable of?

I'd imagine i could simply make an adapter flange for the T3 style manifold with no problems. I'm guessing i could get a gaster for any 2.2 chrysler turbo.

I know you said those shitty 2.2 chryslers but I've read some pretty impressive things about them...with larger turbos and what not but still very impressive.

this is the same turbo I got for super cheap from the yard and am going to index around. I've already test fit it on the 93 civic of my friends under the hf manifold and after clocking both housings and mounting it with the compressor housing facing the passenger side of the engine bay it's gonna fit like a damn champ. Just gotta break my teeth on getting turbo's clocked heh.

I read on the chrysler forums that these little bastards are good up to 17psi and set at 7psi from the factory which ain't bad on a little d-series.

the most fun (read sarcasm there) is going to be making the manifold adapter but I'm definitely going to get a few of them made when I do get around to it :P

i meant .42AR hot .48AR COLD :)

the turbos are just like any other ones just with a jacked up flange which makes them annoying.

Thats pretty impressive. I was just looking to see if I could make an adaptor plate and it did not look like it was possible. It looked like the bolts would hit one another when you line up the exhaust ports.

I suppose I'm a little confused on the adapter plate... is that one you posted pictures of mounting it to a T3 flanged manifold? If so could you give me some more info on how you did it or possibly make one if I pay you lol. :)
