Hella Hybrid Turbo!
Here it is... my big project for my 97 del sol...
- Rebuilt D16Y8 Block
- D16Z6 Head
- S20 Transmission
- Racing Clutch (standard, not the puck type)
- D16Y8 Intake Manifold
- Greddy Exhaust Manifold
- Greddy TD04GH or some ---- numbers turbo (picked up for dirt cheap)
- Greddy S BoV (In these pics I still have the TurboXS RhFL bov on)
- Water Injection Kit
- 450CC Fuel Injectors w/ SAFC (not VAFC)
- P28 A04 ECU
- Hasport Wiring Conversion Harness
- OBD1 Distro (D16Z6)
- 300 Watt Amp / 12" Sub for the trunk
- New Pioneer interior speakers w/ 150 watt max (since factory are like 30 watts max and my deck puts out 50 x 4)
- Steel Braided Brake Hoses
- Ported & Polished Wastegate / Intake / Exhaust
- ZEX Turbo Plugs (supposedly 3 steps colder)
- Nology plug wires (threw them away because they were way to ------- long)
Onyx took care of the wiring, I do the grunt work (like removing the shift linkages, turbo feed install, etc...)
The install was smooth (took a month and a half to get it running with no CELs) mostly because I got fucked on eBay over an engine head, and had to spend $650 to buy a whole motor just to get a ------- head.
Anyways, right now the car is still up on jack stands - its runnable in neutral with no CELs (mostly because there are still oil leaks and the water injection isn't done yet). The oil is leaking from the banjo bolt on the oil feed because I can't get the right washers yet!
Here are the pics of what we have so far, there are tons more on onyx' laptop that he's working on getting to me... there will be pics of the set up for the water injection and eventually I'll do a write up on a home made set up that you can use (will only work with turbo car).
I will also get up my dyno charts and 1/4 mile ETA by the end of the summer running 10.5 psi, using water injection as my cooling method.
Here is the car as it is right now
Shot of the intake
Complete Engine Shot
Thats the block as it was before hoisting and dropping
Here's the whole ------- motor I had to buy just for the head from a local recycler because gbd-sales at ebay fucked me on my head!
ECU Area, I dont know why he took a pic of this
Wahoo my shirt covered in pee! Errr... oil from the massive leak my turbo feed was making
This is the intercooler I have to use, but I don't know how the ---- to pipe it without bending a million times? I keep asking what to do but no one is helping! ARRRRRRRRRRRR I guess I'll sell it
Wahoo higher redline!
How many Ts can you count?

haha, uhhh computer nerd right?
Anyways, forgot to mention we made 'homemade' motor mounts to... Its pure polyurethane caulk, and now my whole car vibrates when the engine torques... its a great back massager!
The Saab intercooler is now my water injection reservoir... I'm going to build on jeff's water cooler idea... Make a box out of it, and use CO2 or dry ice on the outside to drop the methyl alcohol temps before it hits the pump. This should allow me to reduce manifold pressures more so.
I can't wait for this clutch to break in, so I can actually drop it and see if I still got wheel hop
