Default h22 with 16g?

i saw the post about the h22 evo and i decided i wanted to copy...except this for my prelude. does anyone know how the big 16g is on the h22? is it too small for it? i'm going low boost (6-8psi) because i am stickin with stock internals with a goal of about 230-250whp. if the 16g isnt a good choice, please give me one that is. the main reason why i choose the 16g is because of the awesome price i can get it for (aroudn 200). this is basically going to be a turbo kit that is pieced together, mainly a junkyard type setup.

if possible, i would like to spend less than 1500 on turbo (if i get the 16g, itll already have a wastegate), manifold, IC, injectors, downpipe, tuning (using a chipped p28 with crome), oil lines, BOV, and FPR. i think i'm missing some parts but thats the main things i can think of right now.

Really it depends on how you like your boost to come on. But a 16g is a pretty good match for a h22 it will spool rather quick and prolly pull to readline. And if you want more you can usually find 20gs these days for fairly cheap.

thanks for the reply. so far that sounds like what im looking for. will a 20g have more boost lag? my top end right now is already pretty good (vtec ), but i would def like it to come pretty quickly.

also on the stock wastegate of the 16g, what is the psi rating?

The one that came on my 16g opens up around 6-7 psi, but that's with the line connected to the housing and not the intake. I spliced in a vacuum T in the line to bleed some off, now it opens at 10psi.

the 16g should do great on the 2.2 litter h22, they came naturally on my motor (2L) and obviously they dont do to bad. also like you said they're cheap and easy to find. I do believe that the WG for the 16g is 8 psi, not minusing fmic draw.

what do u mean by that?

also now i'm thinking about going with a lovefab and a garrett t3 with an internal wastegate turbo from westcoast turbo. im still planning on boosting about 6-8psi. for the 500$ or so difference, is this worth it?

Id say the 16g would be fine. If its used on a 2.0 engine stock then yeah. But you might have it wind out before redline.

so how bout the first one on this page (t3)

http://www.westcoast-turbo.com/turboa.html

Garrett T3 Turbo

-Rebuilt Garrett T3 Turbocharger
-45 or 60 Trim Compressor Wheel
-.42 A/R (Shown) or .60 A/R Compressor Housing**
-.48 A/R or .63 A/R Turbine Housing Option
-Stage 1 Turbine Wheel
-Internal Wastegate Option (.48 A/R Housing Only)

what should A/R for the compressor housing should i go with? also i want the internal wastegate so the turbine housing will be .48

also 60 trim right?
