GT35R
I would like to use a GT35R turbo on my next project but I have no idea what these tubos came off of or if I'll even be able to get one. Does anyone know?

Re: GT35R
Your able to get one by giving Garrett $1200. No they didn't come stock on any car so your not finding one in a junkyard

Re: GT35R
Doing a quick part#/manufacturer to Junkyard part# cross check, GT35 = fatty Holset hx or hy35.

Re: GT35R
the 60-1 is equivalent to the gt35R......600 HP.
While the GT35R is 1400$+, a 60-1 is under 800$. That's almost enough savings to pay the rest of the damn turbo kit! |
Re: GT35R
What makes a GT35r is the char. There are a lot of turbos in the world will flow the amount of air that the GT35r will. Hell, the SC61 will probably make a tad bit more power than the GT35r due to the larger turbine wheel. The GT35r's point of sale is transient response, but it comes at a high price tag. SC61, GT35e, Holset Hx35, hy35, 60-1, and even a T3/t04e 60 trims are all good turbos to look into that will provide similiar powerbands to the GT35r for about 60% of the price.

rprznt - what are you talking about, hes not talking about a kit. its hmt, not junkyardturbosetup.com

Re: GT35R
Whoa nelly ! I didin't realize thats what the were worth. It's just that I was over at Tapp Auto getting some tid bits for my GSR build and thats what Tapp used on his 596 hp GSR powered civic (11.2 @ 138) . I'm not looking for that kind of power but figured it might be a good idea to use the GT35r. I guess I'll probably go with th t3/to4e or 60-1. I'll probably hit close to 500hp on race fuel. I've already hit the 100mph club, now I whant to hit the 400hp club. I just wasn't sure where this turbo derived from. Now I know. Thanx for all the info.

quickspoolt25 do it if youre a baller, then post pics ;D |
Re: GT35R
Yeah and i know tapp was using 0.82 a/r turbine too on his gt3582R !!!!!
There's another option too! i have the turbonetics center section to custom "ball bearing" aold style t3/t4 turbo!! very nice piece ! I can build a 60-1 with that and be able to offer it formuch cheaper than a gt35r ! |
Re: GT35R
good choice on that turbo.also make shure to run big enough injectors
|
Re: GT35R
Yeah I'll definitly be going with 750-1000 cc inj. I like BLAAST's idea but will have to start saving. I wish I was a baller! After seeing Tapp my list just got a lot longer. He could never hit the 10's because of traction on our shitty track (its a little better now) and only runs awd vehicles now. Hey BLAAST, if you could give me an idea on cost for the hybrid that would be great. You seem to have an understanding of what I'm looking for. And there will definitly be pics. I just have to get someone to show me how to post them. Kumputor allitoritt. I'll be getting more into the build this fall. Thanx agian everyone.

Re: GT35R
just run a hx35 off of a dodge cummins. You can find those turbo's all day on the desiel boards for cheap.
