Default Greddy Turbo VS. t3/t4

Ok boys, help me out here. Engine is a 2000 d16y8 in a 4dr.

considering greddy kit w/type s bov and VAFC2 for fuel management. WHAT differences would I notice between the Greddy td04h and the t3/t4 hybrid thing that I dont kow much about? Which would spool faster, provide most umph per psi and so on and on.

bring it on...

greddy would spool up faster..cause it's smaller.
T3/T4 would deliver more power and I find it an all around better turbo..depends on what type of T3/T4(specs) you're going to use

I recommend the SAFCII instead of VAFC. It comes with better features. The VAFCII doesn't support multiple maps or knock monitoring.

A hybrid on a small D series motor.... If you want to spool really late sure. That little TD04 will practically spool off idle and run out of power before you know it. I would say get a super 60 T3.

ok, I dont know much about the a/r numbers and I've tried to learn but please help me find one the starts spooling at 2-2.5k rpms and gives me mo boost at 4-5. Ideally I was only looking for 7-9 psi and enough to rip up a 99-00 si since they're so many around here. So, if you know a t3 or whatever that can do this, give me the A/R so I can go research it and buy one.

Um, onthe greddy kit, your saying it spools fast and I'll have all my boost by what? 3k rpms? That doesnt sound that bad you all. REMEMBer, this is on stock internals. I want the engine to be somewhat reliable!!

Yeah I would say stick with either the Greddy kit or find a smaller size T3 like the .42/.48.

Hmm, im using a greddy 15g on my d16z6, and it pulls hard all the way up to 8k. I think unless you are running a lot of boost, go with the TDO4. If you are running under 10psi with that t3/t4, i think the lag will be really disapointing IMO.

uhmmm a T3/T4 wouldn't give a lot of lag though..and the super 60 with it's huge .63 turbine will also give fair amount of lag. A small T3/T4 with a .48 turbine and a TO4B compressor would give good resluts though.
small turbine and not to big compressor.

I agree with trance. You can find a 42/48 off a 87-89 Volvo or Saab.If its frome the junkyard it might have some cracks in the exhaust housing but as long as there not too bad you should be ok for low boost.
