Does he have a turbo? If so I think you might want to do the countdown a lil more than 1 min, but shiet I dont know... just figured a lil bit longer would be better for the turbo to cool down...

most of my friends that have had turbo timers set them to 1 or 2 mins.. i guess it depends on how hard you just ran your car. If it's a non boosted drive to the grocery store, then I wouldn't even worry about it

well my HKS has a setting where the timer decides how long the car should run before shutting it down.
Guess is goes of engine temps or something

yes the ApexI one that I have is very similar to the HKS and both pretty much predetermines how long it needs to run depending on how long the car has been on, etc...

Yeah, I was thinking of those timers as well.. but I haven't had the chance to play with any. Sounds like the wisest solution to me, otherwise you can ---- with the settings every time on your cheap manual one.. or just do it the HMT and sit in your car for XX amount of time after a hard run.

yes the HMT way is the most cost effecient way in the short term, but long term (if you bought a nice spanking new turbo) the turbo timer is the best way to go.

I just actually talking to a buddy last night about turbo timers, and he was like I'll just sit in the car for a few minutes just to let the turbo cool off... and I was like that isnt going to happen if you have catch a movie or have a HOT date waiting to blow you... ---- I'd ditch waiting in my car if I knew I got a **** holster waiting for me... haha And ---- I'd run if I knew there was two!

It's called you make time man. ---- going out to see a movie, download it for free and watch it at home on your bigscreen at your own leisure. If the bitch doesn't have the patience for you to tend to your car tell her "this car is more important then you are, either wait and put out or GET OUT". ----, leave a little bit earlier or run some red lights/cut thru the gas stations to get to where you're going quicker so you have time to spool the bitch down.

Every car I get into, I let it warm up to operating temperatures before it gets driven - I make time to take care of my ----. Patience is a virtue.

If you want to be an impatient bitch then install an oil cooler and make sure you have the water lines hooked up on the turbo to help out. Or just buy one of those nice expensive compensating turbo timers. You have your options.
