Re: grand national turbo size ??????
Do you have any more specifics than that? Because it was always described to me as a T04E/T3 hybrid that was called a straight T3 by God, Garrett, and GM. No variations - unless we're dealing with whatever whatsis turbo the Type-T's got, etc.

Re: grand national turbo size ??????
grand nationals had several different configurations, early GNs were carbed and had the t3 60 compressor. The later GNs, like 86-87s and maybe even the earlier 84-85s were fuel injected and had intercoolers and the hybrid turbos. I have a compressor wheel from the later turbos (and shaft and turbine) and the compressor wheel just dwarfs the T3 60. The turbine wheel looks like a stage 3 or greater. Maybe in high performance apps you can carry over the compressor and the turbine or maybe just the compressor, just swap in the backing plate and compressor cover and wheel and it will be a small t3/t4

some say that the newer grand national wheel is the super 60 and some say it's a S trim t04b. i've never got ahold of one to measure the wheel to find out myself. all of the carb and "hot air" cars(non intercooled) had the t3 60trim with a crappy turbine wheel.
