Good place to hava turbo rebuilt?

I have an IHI SVO .60/.63 turbo that I would like to use on my A6. I doesn't really seem to have excessive play, but the inside of the turbine housing is soaked in oil.

I bought a turbo from Blaast before, but I sold it before I ever used it.

Unfortunately, I keep hearing some bad stuff about there service.

Any suggestions on places to send it out to?

I've always worked with Brian at Forced Performance. It's pricey, but not too much more and the work is second to none. Sometimes it's a bitch getting them to rebuild a turbo that's not one of theirs, but if you just have them do the full on reman that's about $400 they'll do pretty much any turbo. That's including shipping and a full rebuild with nothing left out including a dynamic balance.

$400 is steep though, so that's why sometimes it's not worth having a turbo rebuilt at all. I'd say going with the cheaper or less reputable shops would be worse than not having it rebuilt at all because you'll end up with a bad turbo you payed someone lots of cash to molest. Rebuilding a turbo isn't for rookies or basement wannabes. 100k+ rpm is no joke and ---- has to be just right or else it's worthless.

I been dealing with Blaast for years never had a problem with him at all. The main problem people have with him is shipping. Sometimes it takes a long time to get out of customs which his nothing to do with him.

Eh, most of the negative press is probably form people that don't know how to feed a turbo oil.

I'll probably end up sending it to him.

Just think now... You'll have a 400 dollar pocket -----. well not quite pocket sized, it will be a large chunk of worthless turbine wheel chewing, oil spewing garbage. But hey, you can still ---- it.
