OKAY, from the beginning:

1) There are two kinds of energy transfer: radiation, and convection.

- Radiation is where a subatomic particle carries energy, such as a photon (light), electron (ion), etc. Typically highly charged subatomic particle. Radiation can travel across a vacuum, such as sunlight across the solar system.

- Convection is where an actual atom/molecule absorbs heat/energy from rubbing (friction) against another atom/molecule.

2) Radiation is not what is happening in your IC.. therefore it is convection. By definition, this is a product of friction between the charge flowing through your IC and the IC itself. The more friction, the more heat is transferred out of the charge and into the IC.



So, yeah, you want to cool the intake charge, or do you want to worry about a pressure drop you'd never bother to measure anyway? Next thing you're going to tell me hp per psi is important.
