I don't know if this has been discussed before, but this is a very unique idea. I wonder what the lag would be on this kind of set-up. They make set-ups like this for other vehicles too. Just imagine driving behind an Acura and seeing an air filter sticking out from underneath.

I can careless about that part, my main concern is... Oh ---- boss, I think its raining!

I can just see that fucken filter suckin' in water! Besides that if your car is somewhat lower, I can see a turbo that gets scraped up quite a bit.

Another point is that the exhaust will have significantly lower temperature, which means the turbo will take longer to spin... turbo spools is based on kinetic energy, thermal energy, etc...

i finally saw a truck running a remote mount system. i was imressed, it was a 03 half ton with a 4.8L v8 and he was running low 14,s @ 9psi. i talked to the guy and he told me that it spools almost instantly and he gets full boost @ 2100 rpm. I havevideo of it im just waiting for my cousin to give me the camera back so i can post it

You also have to factor in as to how to drain the oil back into the oil pan. You need an external oil pump to do that.
