This is getting scary...........Newb.....questions....2000 Si.
So awhile ago I picked up a manifold/turbo off a Saab 9-3. A li ttle research later I see the turbo is a
Garrett GT17 .53 AR.
I was outside and looked at my Si, back at the turbo and then to the Si again.
Should I?
I went inside with my freshly cleaned turbo and thought about it. Strange exhaust housing. How would
I fit a downpipe? Out of wonder, I picked up a 2.5 inch 3 bolt exhaust flange.
It fit right on.
So after figuring out that the GT17 flows enough for about 220 hp.
I began to think.
What flange is the turbo/manifold? T3 flange? Will that work?
What fuel mods? Engine management? While still remaining OBD2.....no swap to OBD 1......
Whats the best and most reliable method of doing this?
Am I better off just getting a Greddy kit and calling it a day?

I asked a question man, I never said I was gonna do it. The whole point of the post was to gather information.
I research before I do anything. But having never done a turbo kit from scratch.....on such a car, I felt it
prudent to ask.
So my "B" will remain quite safe thank you.

for fuel management while remaining obd2 go with a apexxi vafc and some dsm 450s' and retard the timming 4 degrees and gap the plugs to .0030. along with a walbro 255 intank fuel pump. search through the site for write ups there's alot of good ones on here.

you did research on the turbo.
now do research on the other stuff since you already starting piecing together a kit.

Keep that snail and pick up some 310cc injectors and find someone selling a Greddy bluebox if you don't feel like changing over to obd1. It's the same thing greddy has in their kit. 310s but I think it comes with like a 16g snail. For a manifold just find a cheap log manifold and your set. As much as people say the bluebox sucks it's fine on simple low psi setups. I never heard anyone blowwing their engines on a greddy kit unless people start turning the boost up. I know this isn't a greddy kit but it's better then a fmu and it's noob safe cause there's not much to mess up on.
